In November 1933, Jin Maofang was born in Jining, Shandong. In May 1952, the Xinjiang Military Region recruited a group of female soldiers in Shandong Province. Jin Maofang, who has admired soldiers since childhood, went from the countryside to the county town to sign up, responding to the country’s call for the development and construction of the Northwest. After her parents learned about it, she tried to persuade her to give up. Jin Maofang firmly said:”I must join the army and join the People’s Liberation Army!”
